Scene 2 : Ryu carries Mina's luggage at the airport.

第2課:はじめまして。

場面:空港でリュウがミーナの荷物を持つ。

 

リュウ:荷物、持ちますよ。

ミーナ:あ…すみません、先生。

    あの…ミーナと申します。よろしくお願いします。

リュウ:よろしく。でも、僕は先生じゃないよ。

ミーナ:あ、すみません。えーっと…。

リュウ:僕はオウリュウ。僕も学生だよ。よろしくね。

ミーナ:ミーナです。よろしく、オウリュウさん。

リュウ:「リュウ」でいいよ。「ミーナ」でいい?

ミーナ:うん、いいよ。ありがとう。親切ね、リュウさん!

リュウ:いえいえ(笑)。じゃ、行こう、ミーナさん!

Dai ni ka: Hajimemashite

Bamen ni: Kūkō de Ryū ga Mīna no nimotsu o motsu.

 

Ryu: Nimotsu, mochimasu yo.

Mina: A… sumimasen.

Ano… Mīna to mōshimasu. Yoroshiku onegai shimasu.

Ryu: Yoroshiku. Demo, boku wa sensei janai yo.

Mina: A, sumimasen. Ētto…

Ryu: Boku wa Ōryū. Boku mo gakusei da yo. Yoroshiku ne.

Mina: Mīna desu. Yoroshiku, Ōryū-san.

Ryu: “Ryū” de ii yo. “Mīna” de ii?

Mina: Un, ii yo. Arigatō. Shinsetsu ne, Ryū-san!

Ryu: Ie ie. (wara) Ja, ikō, Mīna-san!

Lesson 2: Nice to meet you.

Scene 2: Ryu carries Mina's luggage.

 

Ryu: I’ll carry your luggage.

Mina: Ah… thank you very much, Mr.

            Um… my name is Mina. Nice to meet you.

Ryu: Nice to meet you. But I’m not a teacher.

Mina: Oh, I’m sorry. Um…

Ryu: I’m Oryu. I’m a student too. Nice to meet you.

Mina: I’m Mina. Nice to meet you, Mr. Oryu.

Ryu: “Ryu” is fine. Is “Mina” okay?

Mina: Yes, that’s fine. Thank you. You’re kind, Ryu-san!

Ryu: No problem. (laughs) Well then, let’s go, Mina-san!

荷物、にもつ、Nimotsu:Luggage / baggage. Things you carry when traveling.

僕、ぼく、Boku:I / me. A casual way for men to refer to themselves.

学生、がくせい、Gakusei:Student. A person who studies at a school or university.

持つ、もつ、Motsu:To have / to hold / to carry. Used for possession or carrying items.

申す、もうす、Mōsu:To say. A polite and humble form of 「言う(いう)」.

いい、Ii:Good / fine / okay. Used to express approval or permission.

親切な、しんせつな、Shinsetsu na:Kind. Describes someone who is nice and helpful.

〜と、To:Quoting particle. Used to quote what someone says or thinks.

〜も、Mo:Also / too. Used to show sameness or addition.

〜で、De:Degree. Used to indicate extent or condition.

〜よ、Yo:Sentence-ending particle. Used to emphasize information or tell something new.

〜ね、Ne:Sentence-ending particle. Used to seek agreement or show friendliness.

でも、Demo:But / however. Used to introduce a contrast or hesitation.
あの…、Ano…:Um… / excuse me… Used to get attention or hesitate before speaking.
